FIGHTS AT REAL MADRID 😨

Real Madrid are supposed to be preparing for El Clasico this weekend. Barcelona can seal the La Liga title against them. The most important domestic game of the season is days away.

And their dressing room has completely collapsed.

The crisis at Real Madrid spiralled after Federico Valverde was hospitalised following a second fight with teammate Aurelien Tchouameni in the space of 24 hours.

It started with a heated argument the day before. Then the next morning Valverde refused to shake Tchouameni’s hand upon arriving at training. That set the tone for a hostile session full of heavy tackles. When the pair went back to the dressing room Valverde accused Tchouameni of leaking the story to the press. Tchouameni denied it. Valverde kept pushing. Teammates tried to intervene. And then Tchouameni punched Valverde, knocking him to the ground. Valverde hit his head on a table, needed stitches, and was taken out of the changing room in a wheelchair.

And that was not even the only fight.

Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Carreras were also involved in a physical confrontation. Kylian Mbappe has been accused of distancing himself from the squad with his attitude infuriating the dressing room. Reports suggest as many as six players do not speak to interim manager Arbeloa.

No player was allowed to leave Valdebebas as the club held an emergency crisis meeting.

Real Madrid are now preparing to open a disciplinary file on both Tchouameni and Valverde, with the club considering the maximum possible sanction.

Madrid’s hierarchy reportedly blames both Xabi Alonso and Arbeloa for failing to control the dressing room. Alonso’s fallout with Vinicius Junior played a role in his sacking. Arbeloa has had disputes with Ceballos, Carvajal and others since taking over.

This is not a club going through a rough patch. This is a complete breakdown of everything that makes a football team function.

And El Clasico is this weekend.
