    Just have fun, and do your thing.
    From day 1, Erik Ten Hag was being chewed out in the media; speculations about just when he would be kicked out with the garbage.. ('Would it be after 2 games? 3…?').
    Those very same journalists were kissing his ass when he left for Man United ("one of the best coaches Ajax ever had").

    Listen to the fans instead.
    On behalf of all Ajax fans: we're very happy to have you here.
    (And it's not leaning on you alone – there are some great players with good insight on the pitch with you.
    But the best connecting player on midfield has been injured for awhile now. (Branco – you'll see what I mean)

    I think you will do just fine here, and hopefully you can inspire the younger players to take their job seriously (actively working on their weaknesses, adjusting their lifestyle to a focus on football – stuff like that).
    And maybe reinspire the feeling in them of just how awesome Ajax really is, and how cool it is to play for this club. (my grandpa used to do that)
    Saw some of the vids of you, taking in everything at the Arena, and musing on just how many famous players have a history at Ajax… I think a lot of the 'kids' forget that at some point (or glance over it)
    *[one of only 5 clubs that have an original European Cup (CL cup) for winning 3. (3 before the year they retired that tradition…. Ajax has, of course, won 4 🙂 And the Europa Cup II (for cup winners), and a world cup.. And the most league titles, and the most KNVB cups ~ a tournament modeled after the FA Cup, etc etc)

    And don't watch Ziggo Sports discussion panels (like 'Rondo') featuring once great players.
    All quite bitter and negative perspectives… even Van Basten (he's quite the Negative Nancy – even about Ajax – most of the time)
